Wiz Khalifa “Kush & OJ”

I’ve had a love hate relationship with Wiz for some time now.  At times, I think that he is a fresh faced, tattooed, rags to riches relief to a diluted rap game.  Other times, however, I can’t help but stare at iTunes with a blank face wondering “what the fuck is this shit dog”.  Refreshingly, Wiz’s eighth independently produced mixtape, Kush & OJ, makes me try to blast my earphones until my eardrums explode.  Yea it’s that good.  The potent mixture of production and rampant marijuana referenced lyrics makes this the best of all his mixtapes.  My personal favorites are Never Been, In the Cut and Pedal to the Metal.  Download it here, if you haven’t already, and make your own assumptions.  We’re cool again Wiz!!!!

Banksy Exit Through the Gift Shop–Extended Trailer

Revered street artist Banksy is set to have his 2010 Sundance Festival winner, Exit Through the Gift Shop, premiere in theaters on April 16th, 2010.  The notoriously secretive artist came to fame during the early 1990’s with his controversial and thought provoking street pieces.  His feud with fellow English statesman Roobo has been his latest and most publicized to this point.  This trailer shows more of the story of French shop owner turned filmmaker Thierry Guetta and his personal friendship with Banksy.  Guetta’s zest for having a camera in his hand at all times led him to this monumental and once in a lifetime meeting with Bansky which lead to this film.  I can’t wait to check this out!!

Artist and designer jeffstaple recently sat down with BRAND RMX to talk about how little things add up to produce the big things.  Staple, founder of Reed Space and designer of the infamous “Pigeon Dunk” speaks on the subjects of perfection, influences, and inspiration.  As a company, Staple Design stays true to its roots while reaching into other larger markets to collaborate and have an influence.  There portfolio ranges from Payless to Nike.  This sense of staying true and grounded drives me harder to build my brand and not be afraid of not appealing to the big wigs.  I say…FUCK ‘EM!!!
