Ev has been my bestfriend for the past 8 years.  Been through alot of shit together.  One of those things being film.  We started at the same time and he got me more immersed in it.  He has been the videographer and personal assistant for Ryan Leslie for the past 2 1/2 years.  His evolution has been insane crazy.  Here is some hot shit he just shot for Chanel Iman’s (yes the supermodel) myspace page and youtube channel. Do I lose hood credibility because I like banana now or laters?

I was told by my best friend tonight that I am the weirdest person to ever grow up in the hood.  He said that my lack of love for a piece of gum makes me weird. We have argued with and contested each other on this point.  I personally think that gum is like chewing hot rubber.  It doesnt go anywhere while in your mouth (no homo) and it just gets hotter along with your breath.  After our usual stalemate on the subject, I told him about the craving i had been having all day long- banana now or laters.  He paused and said “you are the weirdest hood nigga I have ever met.”  I guess that means, along with not chewing gum, I must have not grown up in the hood.  He then said that a poll was taken by a sample of 100 dudes who grew up in the hood, and they were asked what was their favorite now or later, banana would have never come up.  I guess I am the weirdest dude to come from the hood. 

I can guarantee you this though, I WILL NEVER EVER CHEW A PIECE OF GUM AND I WILL CONTINUE TO REQUEST BANANA NOW OR LATERS.

What Time is It???? Gametime!!!!!!

While at school today, I got the opportunity to watch a lot of the Veterans Day Parade, in person.  Im not usually a patriot, but I do relate to being an American and am proud of it.  I am, more so, because of the freedom I am granted by the Constitution.  The parade resonated with me in two ways.  First I got to see how disciplined those in the armed forces are.  It made me realize that these people are dying in wars around the world, just so I can maintain the freedom that I previously spoke of.  I was slapped in the face by reality.  Secondly, I was crazy hype from all the bands.  Every time I hear base drums, I get this feeling like I can kick anyones ass at that moment in time.  It reminded me of the six years I played football.  Before every game during my senior year in high school we shouted “What time is it? Gametime!!” at the top of our lungs before everygame.  This made me feel as though I was going to war with my teammates, or brothers, and we were coming to punch you in the mouth.  Brought me back to those good ‘ol CCHS days!!!!!!!

Right to Vote

I have just voted for the first time in my 24 years on this earth.  Although it is quite embarrassing that it took me this long to exercise my right to vote, it could have not been at a better time.  I feel honored to have my voice heard in this monumental election.  This election will change the world and I was a part of it.  I hope that all you other young adults did the same!
